Well we all have this doubt in us.. are we making things really worth ? even i come across this question so many times! However, we should rather concentrate on what we really like.. Appreciation follows.. like this wonderful snap of yours/// all the best!
Was this taken in Thailand? My best friend lived in Lopburi for 9 years, a Thai town full of monkeys.
I love your site BTW. Your photos are not only beautiful, but interesting and thought provoking as well.
Thank you! I took it in Kalimantan, Sumatra, Indonesia, so not that far. Unfortunately they often domesticate the monkies (also the orangutans) so they end up having a rope around the leg as this one here. It’s pretty sad I think.
That is a pity, though I have to say, the monkeys in Lopburi and completely wild and they can be quite scary.
You cannot eat anything at all in public as they fly down out of nowhere and grab it. They also know people often have food in bags, so they grab them too. I once saw three monekys there grab a little boy’s school bag. He was jumping up and down screaming for people to help him get it back, while the monkeys sat on a high wall, pulling things out of it one at a time and throwing them all over the place.
It was a real lesson in where humans get their cruel streak from.
Awesome portrait. Super composition…
thanks. i’m still upset with myself that the monkey is a bit blurry, but i also love how he gives the camera his full attention from the far corner.
So you are a photographer as well ??
lovely snap!
you know, the usual modern creative people. all and nothing at the same time
